Alex is a Master’s student at the Department of Computing Science, supervised by Dr. Patrick
Pilarski and Dr. Ahmed Shehata. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering
(Software Option) from the University of Alberta in 2024. Prior to graduate studies, Alex
completed an internship developing brain-computer interface software at the Imagination
Centre, Alberta Health Services.
His current research interest is on human-machine interfaces within the AI for Health domain.
Specifically, he is developing a virtual reality platform for training with myoelectric
multi-articulated prostheses, and exploring strategies to enhance training engagement and
effectiveness.
In his free time, Alex enjoys hiking, playing table tennis, and trying out new board games.
